RIP That Guy Who Was in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

Though best known for his role as hunky Lance Rocke in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, the actor/author was also distinguished by a career as a beefcake pin-up boy. Sadly, he has passed away at the age of 67.

The cheesecake in BTVotD is, well, it can only be described as epic.

BTVotD is also the most tasteful movie ever made. A character leaps to his or her death, so Meyer superimposes the sound of a diving Stuka over it. Class-y, as only Russ Meyer can bring you.

(it's really a weird, blippy movie that's well worth watching just for that reason)

Wow, so only Notable and Esteemed Worthies Who Kick the Bucket deserve a FPP? What is this, the Times of London? Even they let their hair down recently and published Evel Knievel's obit (complete with appropriately stuffy references to his being "an amalgam of resilience and weakness").

In college we had a good drinking games that we companioned with each Russ Meyer movie. With Beyond the Valley of The Dolls every time a charachter took a pill you ate a tick tack and washed it down with a shot of Tequila.

Well, the line has to be drawn somewhere, doesn't it? I mean, unless you want to see tens (or even hundreds) of thousands of obituary posts every day, you have to say that some deaths are worthy of a post to metafilter, and others, not.

I mean, maybe you do want that-- maybe you ARE that obsessed with the recently deceased-- but, if so, you should probably hang out at this site instead of at Metafilter.
